Bespoke Tailored Trousers & Shorts in Singapore

Ron & Rich cuts bespoke trousers and shorts in styles from Gurkha and side adjusters to clean beltless fronts. Tailoring in Singapore since 1979, our master tailors cut tailored pants to sit securely at your natural waist and fall cleanly to your preferred break.

Trousers

Trousers fitted personally for you.

Every pair of tailored trousers we make in Singapore is cut to your physique. We take precise waist, hip and inseam measurements and adjust for seat depth and leg pitch, so the trouser hangs cleanly from waist to shoe. Uneven hips, bow legs or knock knees call for more than standard tailoring; our master tailors read these at the fitting and cut the pattern around them.

Each pair is hand-cut from an individual paper pattern drafted for your proportions, then finished with a canvas-reinforced waistband that stays flat against the torso and hand-stitched bar tacks at every stress point.

Trouser styles.

From timeless classics to bolder contemporary cuts, the waistband sets the character of the trouser. Choose the one that suits how you dress.

Gurkha trousers by Ron & Rich

Gurkha trousers

A high, wide waistband with buckled crossover straps, borrowed from military dress. Pleated and full of character, they suit smart-casual days and relaxed weekends.

Side adjusters by Ron & Rich

Side adjusters

Buckled tabs at each hip replace belt loops and let you fine-tune the waist. They keep the waistband clean, a natural choice for suit and office trousers.

D-ring by Ron & Rich

D-ring

A cloth tab drawn through a pair of metal D-rings at the hip adjusts the waist with a touch of vintage sporting style.

Staggered monk hooks

Two hooks set at offset points fasten the waistband flat and secure, a discreet detail that keeps the front of formal trousers smooth.

Beltless by Ron & Rich

Beltless

With no belt loops and the waist settled at your fitting, beltless trousers give an uninterrupted line from shirt to shoe, ideal under a jacket.

Pleats or flat front by Ron & Rich

Pleats or flat front

Single or double forward pleats give room to sit; a flat front is cleaner with a slim jacket. Either is drawn into the pattern, never altered afterwards.

Cloth for Singapore’s climate

We choose cloth by how it breathes and how it performs in Southeast Asia’s heat. For lightweight tailored trousers that stay cool, we cut tropical-weight wool, cotton, linen and linen blends, which let air move freely through humid afternoons while holding a clean crease.

Tailored shorts

Off-the-rack shorts tend to flare at the hem or bunch at the seat. We cut tailored shorts for men to balance thigh width and leg length against your height, so the profile stays clean through the leg. Built with the same waistband and breathable cloths as our trousers, they are a refined option for your most casual days.

Trousers for work and the weekend

Bespoke should not be reserved for formal dress. We cut tailored trousers around everyday life in Singapore.

  • For work Trousers in breathable cloth that stay crisp and comfortable from the morning commute to evening meetings.
  • For the weekend Denim and relaxed styles with a softer drape, tailored for a smart-casual wardrobe.

How bespoke trousers are made to order

All commissioned men’s tailored pants, trousers and shorts at Ron & Rich follow the same bespoke process.

  1. 01

    Pattern drafting and cutting

We take full measurements, accounting for hip slope, seat depth and leg pitch, and draft your master pattern onto paper. Your chosen cloth is then hand-cut.

  2. 02

    The fitting

You try on the trousers in their preliminary state. Our master tailor checks the rise, seat, waistband position and how the leg falls over your shoe, pinning and chalking adjustments on the garment.

  3. 03

    Pattern correction and hand-finishing

The trousers are taken apart and your pattern corrected to match the chalked adjustments. The garment is then finished with a canvas-reinforced curtain waistband and hand-tacked stress points.

  4. 04

    Pressing and handover

The finished trousers are hand-pressed under heavy steam to shape the leg and set a sharp crease, then prepared for collection.

Tailored trousers FAQs

How much do tailored trousers cost in Singapore?

Bespoke trousers at Ron & Rich start from $290, including GST. Denim starts from $290 and pure wool trousers from $390, with the final price set by the mill, weave and weight of the cloth.

How long do bespoke trousers take to make?

Usually three to four weeks from the first consultation to collection. That covers pattern drafting, cutting and the standard fitting, with a little more time if posture adjustments call for an extra fitting.

What is the difference between tailored pants and trousers?

None in construction or fit. Trousers is the British term and pants the American one; in Singapore both are used for the same bespoke, tailor-fitted garment.

How many fittings do tailored trousers need?

One to two fittings after the initial measuring. Our master tailors hold as many as needed so the rise, seat depth and leg pitch sit exactly on your natural stance.

Can I order trousers without a jacket?

Yes. Odd trousers are one of our most frequent commissions: grey flannel, tan cotton, navy hopsack, each cut to your pattern and finished by hand.

What is the right trouser break?

For a clean modern line we recommend a slight break or none, with the hem just touching the shoe. A fuller break suits wider trousers and a more classic look. We will show you both at the fitting.
