Bespoke 2 Piece Suits in Singapore

Ron & Rich is a bespoke tailor on Tras Street, cutting two-piece suits for men in Singapore since 1979. For the office, formal events or quiet weekends, each suit pairs a jacket and trousers cut from a pattern drafted to your proportions, refined fitting by fitting until it sits seamlessly on your frame.

Suits

How we cut a two-piece suit.

Our two-piece suits carry the contemporary masculine silhouette of soft shoulders, clean lines and a natural drape, the hallmarks of Italian tailoring. Each jacket is fully canvassed, so the chest holds its structure while moulding to your body over time, and high-set armholes give you freedom to move while the jacket stays neatly anchored.

Singapore’s climate calls for thoughtful construction. We pair lightweight canvassing with open-weave, breathable cloths so the suit breathes through the day, and our master tailor selects each cloth around your routine, from morning meetings to evenings outdoors.

Design choices for a two-piece suit.

At the consultation our master tailor guides you through each detail of your custom 2-piece suit, from lapel shape to waistband finish, weighing every recommendation against your build and the occasions ahead.

i

Lapels

Notch lapels carry easily from desk to dinner, while peak lapels bring a commanding edge to evening events.

ii

Buttons

A two-button front offers everyday versatility, and a single button creates a longer, sleeker line after dark.

iii

Vents

Double vents let the jacket fall cleanly as you sit or move, while a single vent suits a softer cut.

iv

Pockets

Flap pockets lend ease to daily wear, while jetted pockets give formal suits a crisp, uninterrupted line.

v

Waistband

Belt loops keep things practical at the office, while side adjusters create a cleaner waist without a belt. See our trouser styles for how each finishes.

Cloth weight

For Singapore we favour 8 to 10 oz high-twist wools, linen blends and tropical hopsack, which breathe, recover from creasing and hold a crisp line.

When to wear a two-piece suit

For work

Navy, charcoal and grey form the backbone of reliable office wear. Cut in a lightweight cloth, a two-piece suit for men carries you through the working day. For formal corporate settings, explore our business suits.

For formal events

At weddings, galas and evening receptions, a darker cloth and peak lapels add a quiet sense of ceremony. Grooms and guests can browse our wedding suits. Where black tie is required, one of our tuxedos is the better choice.

Worn casually

With an open collar or a knitted polo, a two-piece suit sits comfortably at long lunches and weekend gatherings. A lighter cloth in softer shades keeps the look relaxed, and the jacket and trousers work equally well as separates.

Two-piece or three-piece suit?

The difference lies in the waistcoat. A three-piece suit adds one in matching cloth, while a two-piece keeps to jacket and trousers. For everyday versatility the two-piece is the easier companion; a three-piece brings added formality to weddings and ceremonial occasions. If you are weighing both, explore our three-piece suits. Both belong to our wider collection of bespoke suits.

2 piece suit FAQs

How much does a bespoke 2 piece suit cost in Singapore?

Bespoke two-piece suits at Ron & Rich start from $2,170, including GST. Every suit is fully canvassed as standard, and the final price depends on the mill, weave and weight of the cloth you choose.

How long does a bespoke two-piece suit take to craft?

Typically 8 to 12 weeks from the first consultation to collection. That covers pattern drafting, chest canvassing and the standard fittings, with a little more time if complex shoulder or posture adjustments call for an extra basted fitting.

Are two-piece suits still in style?

The two-piece suit remains the cornerstone of modern menswear because of its balance and versatility. By adjusting cloth weight, shoulder structure and lapel proportion, a single suit moves from corporate settings to relaxed weekend wear.

Can a two-piece suit be worn comfortably in Singapore’s climate?

Yes, if the cloth and construction are chosen for it. We recommend open-weave cloths such as high-twist wools, linen blends and tropical hopsack, paired with our lightweight full canvas, so the jacket breathes while holding its line in high humidity.

What is the difference between a bespoke and a made-to-measure two-piece suit?

Made-to-measure adapts an existing base pattern to basic measurements. A bespoke suit begins with a paper pattern drafted from scratch for your proportions, followed by basted fittings where our master tailor refines shoulder slope, chest drape and balance around your natural stance.

Can I add a waistcoat later?

Yes. Because your pattern is archived, a matching or contrasting waistcoat can be cut later to turn the suit into a three piece, provided the cloth is still available.
