Bespoke 3 Piece Suits in Singapore

Ron & Rich is a bespoke tailor on Tras Street, crafting 3 piece suits for discerning men in Singapore since 1979. In breathable lightweight wool for business formal dress, weddings and black-tie optional evenings, each tailored 3 piece suit for men unites jacket, trousers and waistcoat cut from a pattern drafted to your proportions.

Suits

How we cut a three-piece suit.

Our 3 piece suits carry the house silhouette of soft shoulders, clean lines and a natural drape. When all three garments are cut for one client, the waistcoat lies flat beneath the jacket and meets the trouser waistband without gap or overlap. Each jacket is built on a lightweight full canvas, holding its chest structure without unnecessary weight.

A well-cut waistcoat sits close to the body, covers the trouser waistband and lies flat beneath the jacket. At the back, an adjustable strap lets you fine-tune the fit through the day. It is where your custom made 3 piece suit shows the most character, and our master tailor will weigh each style against your jacket and the occasion ahead.

The waistcoat, four ways.

i

Single-breasted

A clean, versatile front that sits neatly under any jacket and carries easily from boardroom to wedding.

ii

Double-breasted

A bolder, more structured front that brings quiet presence to evening events.

iii

With lapels

A refined detail that stands out when the jacket is worn open.

iv

Without lapels

A smooth, minimal line that keeps the focus on the cut and the cloth.

When to wear a three-piece suit

For weddings

A 3 piece suit in Singapore is a long-standing choice for grooms, lending the occasion a classic, polished dignity. The waistcoat keeps you composed long after the jacket comes off at the reception. Grooms and guests can explore our wedding suits.

For business formal

Where the dress code calls for business formal, a bespoke 3 piece suit in navy or charcoal conveys quiet authority. Cut in a lightweight wool, it carries you from boardroom presentations to client dinners. For everyday corporate wear, explore our business suits.

For black-tie optional

A dark men three piece suit in midnight navy or deep charcoal sits comfortably within a black-tie optional dress code. Where strict black tie is required, one of our tuxedos remains the appropriate choice.

Wearing a three-piece suit in Singapore’s heat

Singapore’s climate calls for a lighter hand when layering three pieces. We cut each suit in lightweight, open-weave wools paired with a lightweight canvas, so air moves freely through the garment. Because a waistcoat adds warmth across the torso, our master tailor may recommend a lighter lining or a breathable silk back panel. The result keeps you composed through a humid day, with or without the jacket.

One suit, three ways to wear it

A single bespoke commission gives you three distinct looks for different settings.

  • All three pieces The complete silhouette for weddings, business formal dress codes and ceremonial evenings.
  • Jacket and trousers Leave the waistcoat aside for a classic two-piece look, ideal for daily office wear.
  • Waistcoat and trousers Set the jacket aside for a relaxed yet tailored appearance at receptions and warm outdoor gatherings.

How a bespoke three-piece suit is crafted

Every commission moves through four stages, guided by more than four decades of bespoke tailoring.

3 piece suit FAQs

How much does a bespoke 3 piece suit cost in Singapore?

A bespoke two-piece suit at Ron & Rich starts from $2,170 and a waistcoat from $380, including GST. Every suit is fully canvassed as standard, and the final price depends on the mill, weave and weight of the cloth.

Is a 3 piece suit too hot for Singapore?

Not when it is cut for the climate. We recommend open-weave, lightweight wools and a lightweight canvas, with the waistcoat cut close to the body to avoid bulk and let the garment breathe in humidity.

What are the rules for wearing a 3 piece suit?

A few conventions preserve the line. Leave the bottom button of the waistcoat undone so it sits smoothly when you are seated. Make sure the waistcoat covers the trouser waistband completely, and choose side adjusters or braces rather than a belt for a cleaner waist.

How long does a tailored 3 piece suit take to craft?

Typically 8 to 12 weeks from the first consultation to collection. That covers pattern drafting for all three garments, chest canvassing and the standard fittings, with a little more time if posture adjustments call for an extra basted fitting.

What is the difference between a bespoke and a made to measure 3 piece suit?

Made to measure adapts existing base patterns to basic measurements. A bespoke three-piece begins with paper patterns drafted from scratch for your proportions, followed by basted fittings where our master tailor refines shoulder slope, chest drape and waistcoat rise around your natural stance.

Should the waistcoat match the suit?

For business and formal occasions, yes. For weddings and evening events a contrast waistcoat is a classic move. We will show you both against your chosen cloth.
