A bespoke garment is made from a paper pattern drafted from scratch for one person. Your pattern is cut from your measurements and posture, tested at a basted fitting and refined by our master tailor until the drape, balance and fit are right.
Made-to-measure adjusts an existing standard pattern to your measurements. Bespoke starts with a new pattern drafted for your body alone, then refines proportion, balance and stance across several fittings.
Ron & Rich makes bespoke suits, sports jackets, waistcoats, tuxedos, wedding suits, safari jackets and chore coats, as well as shirts, trousers and shorts. You can see the full range on our bespoke page.
Ron & Rich has been tailoring in Singapore since 1979. The house was founded by master tailor Richard Fan and is led today together with his son, Aaron Fan. You can read our story on the About page.

A full-canvas suit has a layer of canvas stitched between the cloth and the lining of the jacket front. Because it is stitched rather than glued, it shapes the chest and moulds to you over time. Our suits, sports jackets and tuxedos are fully canvassed.

We talk about what you need the garment for, how you like to dress and the cloths that suit your life and Singapore’s climate. We then take your measurements and note your posture so your pattern can be drafted. A first consultation does not oblige you to place an order.
Please do. Photos and garments you already own are a helpful starting point for talking about style, cut and details.
Yes. We can plan fittings around your travel dates, and once your pattern is on file, repeat commissions need fewer visits.
Expect two to three fittings after your first consultation for a suit, and one to two for trousers. Every figure is different, so our master tailor holds as many fittings as needed.
A basted fitting is the first try-on of a loosely stitched shell. It lets our master tailor assess the drape, balance and movement of the garment on you before it is finished. See the full process.
Wear the shoes you plan to wear with the garment, and a shirt of the kind you will wear with it. This lets us set the trouser length, sleeve length and collar correctly.
Yes. Your pattern and fitting notes are kept on file, so future commissions begin from them. We do not use your pattern for anyone else.
Once your shirt pattern is settled, repeat shirts need no fitting. For suits and jackets, a pattern on file means fewer visits, although we may still ask you in to check the fit.

Ron & Rich works with cloths from English and Italian mills for suits and jackets, and European cloths, Liberty London prints and New Zealand linen for shirts.
Open-weave cloths such as high-twist wools, tropical hopsack and linen blends. With a lightweight canvas, the jacket breathes while holding its shape in the humidity.
Yes. We regularly dress grooms, groomsmen, partners and teams, and can advise on coordinating cloth and colour across the party. See our wedding suits and business suits.
If the invitation says black tie, or the banquet runs late into the evening, a tuxedo. Otherwise a suit for the ceremony, with a change into a tuxedo for the reception if you like. See our tuxedos.
Please tell us as soon as possible and bring the garment to the atelier. We will inspect it, and where there is a fault in our workmanship, we will repair, adjust or remake it.
Rest a suit for a day between wears, hang it on a shaped hanger and brush it after wearing. Dry clean only when needed, since frequent cleaning wears the cloth. We are always happy to advise on the care of your garments.
